North Country Cares

About Us

 Who we are

About North Country CaresNorth Country Cares is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that consists of a board of directors, an executive director and dedicated volunteers. Our main goal is to be a resource for young people in the Mount Washington Valley and and surrounding communities.  Our  “Home Base” is The Revolving Closet.

The Revolving Closet

The Revolving Closet is a free boutique for young adults ages 12-18.  The boutique offers new and gently used clothing, toiletries, school supplies, accessories, books and friendly faces. We collect donations daily from the incredible people who support us.  Our existence is dependent on this support and contributions are greatly appreciated.

Back to School Giveaway

Prior to the start of every school year, we host a “Back to School Giveaway”.  Everything offered at the Revolving Closet is available, as well as brand new backpacks, filled with school supplies.  This annual event’s new location is the Revolving Closet.  All items are free of charge. 2019 will be our sixth year.  During our last event we provided over 250 area students with needed clothing and school supplies.

It’s All About the Dress

When Prom season rolls around, It’s All About the Dress!  New and gently used dresses are available for free. After you’ve picked your perfect gown you can complete your look with our shoes, jewelry and accessories.

Tis The Season

Annually, North Country Cares holds a free shopping event for parents of children ages 12-18.  Age related stocking stuffers,  gift cards and presents are available to help families give their teenagers a Happy Holiday.

Bags of Love

Our program works with the foster care system in the State of New Hampshire.  Bags of Love provides age specific bags, filled with necessities and small comforts, to help children transition to their foster homes.

In addition, we have found the needs of the children and our commumity to be far greater than we first thought.

We provide food for teens in difficult living situations,

Help whole families that have met with disaster.

Work with the local Middle and Senior High Schools to meet the needs of individual children.

Clothing we receive, that is not appropriate for teens, is donated to elementary schools and local thrift shops.

We also sponsor:

Kids to summer camps,

A group of teens that help with disaster relief programs

A teen to the Global Leadership Program.

As more needs are identified we hope we will be there to help.
