Who we are
North Country Cares is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that consists of a board of directors, an executive director and dedicated volunteers. Our main goal is to be a resource for young people in the Mount Washington Valley and and surrounding communities. Our “Home Base” is The Revolving Closet.
The Revolving Closet is a free boutique for young adults ages 12-18. The boutique offers new and gently used clothing, toiletries, accessories, books and friendly faces. We collect donations daily from the incredible people who support us. Our existence is dependent on this support and contributions are greatly appreciated.
Prior to the start of every school year, we host a “Back to School Giveaway”. Everything offered at the Revolving Closet is available, as well as brand new backpacks, filled with school supplies. This annual event is held at the North Conway Community Center. All items are free of charge. This event is in its fifth year. During our last event we provided over 250 area students with needed clothing and school supplies.
When prom season rolls around, Its All About the Dress! Prom dresses sold for a nominal cost. Shoes, jewelry and accessories are free!
Annually, North Country Cares holds a shopping event for parents of children ages 12-18. Teen related stocking suffers, stockings, gift cards and gifts are available to help families give their teenagers a happy holiday- all free of charge.
Our program also works with the foster care system in the State of New Hampshire. Bags of Love provides age specific bags, filled with necessities and small comforts, to help children transition to their foster homes.
